Equities in Asia-Pacific traded lower on Tuesday as market participants in the region reacted to the negative sentiment that came out of the US markets where investors' worries about a global recession ramped up.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng decreased by 0.75% at 4:43 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi Composite fell 0.89%. Japan's Nikkei 225 went 1.17% or 337 points down at 4:35 am CET and the Australian S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.53% at 4:44 am CET.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite went down by 0.37% at 4:43 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite down by 0.61% a minute later. The dollar traded 0.20% lower against the yen, going for ¥137.2260 at 4:45 am CET.
