Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher after United States President Donald Trump's statement that the tariff currently imposed on China would be reduced significantly, seemingly easing investor concern about the trade war between Washington and Beijing.
Meanwhile, traders also looked at the latest economic data from Japan and Australia.
Japan's Nikkei 225 jumped 1.72% at 4:30 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng expanded 1.74% and South Korea's Kospi advanced 1.31%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 grew 1.61% at the same minute. On the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite decreased 0.08% a minute later while the Shenzhen Composite added 0.30%.
The dollar was 0.23% stronger against the yen at 4:31 am CET, exchanging for 141.93050
