Stock exchanges in Asia were mostly lower in afternoon trade on Wednesday after Hyundai posted its latest quarterly results. Ahead of its own earnings announcement, Nissan revealed a €600 million investment into its alliance with Renault, specifically the French automaker's electric vehicle unit Ampere.
The Nikkei 225 was flat at 7:36 am CET. The Shanghai Composite declined by 0.51% at 7:21 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index decreased by 0.57% at 7:36 am CET. The Hang Seng lost 0.79% at 7:37 am CET. The Kospi dropped 1.34% at the same time. The S&P/ASX 200 rose by 0.79% at 7:37 am CET.
The dollar was 0.10% higher than the Japanese yen, trading for 141.0545 at 7:38 am CET.
