Major stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded higher on Monday as the United States and China managed to make some progress on trade negotiations during the weekend, seemingly lifting investors' spirits.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite added 0.44% at 7:16 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite surging 1.13% a minute later. While Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 1.06% at 7:18 am CET, South Korea's Kospi Composite advanced by 0.69% at the same time.
At 7:15 am CET, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose by 0.15% and Japan's Nikkei 225 was up 0.28% at 7:18 am CET. The dollar traded 0.45% above the yen at 7:19 am CET, changing hands for 146.03600.
