Markets in Asia-Pacific slid in Tuesday's afternoon trading with Hong Kong's Hang Seng plummeting over 2.5% following a report that showed weak loan demand in China. Elsewhere, investors awaited earnings from companies including SoftBank.
The Hang Seng plunged 2.60% at 6:56 am CET. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.81% at 6:57 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite was down 0.23% at 6:58 am CET.
Japan's Nikkei 225 declined 0.66% at 6:56 am CET and South Korea's Kospi slid 1.81% at the same time.
In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 ended the session 0.13% lower.
The dollar was flat against the yen, going for 153.6130 at 7:00 am CET.
