Major stock equities in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed during Friday's afternoon session, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng tumbling following the newly announced curbs aimed at limiting spending on online games which sent Tencent Holdings Ltd's stock to plummet.
Meanwhile, consumer inflation in Japan slowed in November, falling to its lowest point in 17 months.
At 7:16 am ET, Hang Seng dropped 1.61%, while the Shanghai Composite slipped 0.37%. The Shenzhen Composite plunged 1.09%. South Korea's Kospi was flat, and the Nikkei 225 closed 0.09% higher. Australian S&P/ASX 200 was also flat at the closing bell.
The US dollar added 0.10% against the Japanese yen, selling at 142.36500 a minute later.
