Major stock market indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Tuesday as investors kept their eyes on the release of highly anticipated minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee's December meeting, along with key PMI, CPI and unemployment figures to be released this week for the European Union, the United States, Germany and Japan.
S&P Global already released the manufacturing PMI for China, which showed that the country's factory activity further contracted in December.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite increased by 0.95% at 3:46 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite flat at the same time. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up by 0.68% at 3:48 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi Composite lost 1.04%. The dollar traded 0.62% lower against the yen, going for 129.9255 at 3:49 am CET, as Australia's S&P/ASX 200 fell by 1.67%. Markets in Japan are still closed for the holidays.
