Asian markets traded mixed on Friday, finalizing a week loaded with monetary policy decisions of the major economies of the region. Policies remained unchanged by the Bank of Japan (BoJ) in its monetary policy meeting, as well as the People's Bank of China (PBoC) leaving key interests unchanged, and the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) keeping rates steady.
The markets also received the latest annual Japanese Consumer Price Index (CPI) report.
In mainland China, the Shenzen Composite fell by 0.47%, and the Shanghai Composite declined by 0.27% at 3:11 am CET. Japan's Nikkei 225 increased by 0.22%, South Korea's Kospi Composite also increased by 0.32% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.33%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 fell by 0.45% at 3:13 am CET.
The dollar traded at 0.09% more than the yen, going for ¥142.32 at 3:17 am CET.
