Markets in Asia-Pacific fell in Wednesday's afternoon trading as investors digested the latest consumer prices report from the United States, which showed inflation in January was higher than analysts had expected.
The Nikkei 225 slid 0.37% at the end of the session. The dollar was flat against the yen, selling for 133.0875 at 7:01 am CET.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged 1.54% at 6:58 am CET. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.41% at 6:57 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite was down 0.09% at 7:00 am CET.
South Korea's Kospi plummeted 1.59% at 7:00 am CET and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 closed 1.06% lower.
