At least two students were killed in the shooting that took place at a school in Des Moines, Iowa, the city's police department (DMPD) said on Monday.
The police said the shooting was reported around 12:53 pm local time at the charter school Starts Right Here. The still unidentified perpetrator also wounded multiple people, one of which is in critical condition.
"Approximately twenty minutes after the shooting incident, and two miles away, Des Moines Police Department patrol officers and detectives took multiple suspects into custody following a traffic stop," the DMPD said in a statement and labeled the event as "certainly a targeted incident."
