United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will be making a visit to Israel on March 8, Axios reported on Wednesday citing two Israeli and US officials with knowledge of the matter.

The Pentagon refused to give comments about the possible trip. Just two days ago, US officials confirmed that one of its nationals was killed during aggression attacks at the West Bank.

The trip comes amid Washington urging all parties to the conflict to de-escalate the situation and condemning the latest happenings in the area.
