Australia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 4.3% in June, higher than expected and up from last month's figure of 4.1%, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) revealed on Thursday.
In June, the number of those who secured jobs rose by 2,000, missing estimates. Last month, that number dropped by 2,500. Full-time employment decreased by 38,200 to 10,063,200 people, while part-time employment increased by 40,200 to 4,556,100 people. The number of those unemployed rose by 33,600.
Meanwhile, the employment-to-population ratio remained at 64.2%, while the underemployment rate increased to 6%. The participation rate rose to 67.1%.
