Austria's liberal Neos party has secured approval for a coalition agreement with the conservative People's Party (OVP) and Social Democrats (SPO), allowing their three-party government to take office. The deal was endorsed by the Neos general assembly on Sunday, with 94.13% of votes in favor.
Beate Meinl-Reisinger (pictured), leader of Neos, expressed immense gratitude, calling it a "historic moment" for the party, founded in 2012. The Neos said to be committed to reforming key areas such as education, pensions, and reducing bureaucracy. The coalition's 211-page program was also approved, clearing the last obstacle before the official formation of the new government.
The government will be sworn in at 11 am (local time) on Monday.
