Austria's chief diplomat: EU planning new Russia sanctions

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg stated on Wednesday the European Union is preparing the fourth package of sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

"The next main target will be, so to speak, the top, the oligarchs. We are working; there are already new lists," he remarked. Schallenberg added the foreign ministers of the EU's members will have a special meeting with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

As a result of the EU's sanctions, the latest of which targeted mostly Russia's financial sector, PJSC Sberbank announced earlier in the day it will exit the European market.
