Austrian president in hospital after fall

Austria's President Alexander Van der Bellen was admitted to hospital on Saturday after falling earlier in the day and sustaining a pelvic injury.

According to local media, the president fell at his second official residence, Muerzsteg am Becken and was taken to a Viennese hospital thereafter. He is being treated with pain killers and doesn't need surgery.

Van der Bellen is believed to be doing well and will stay in hospital as a precaution for the next few days.
