Azerbaijan, Turkey discuss Nagorno-Karabakh crisis

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry revealed on Tuesday the country's Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and his Turkish counterpart Yashar Guler held a phone conversation on Tuesday.

The two defense ministers discussed the announced "anti-terrorist operation" Baku launched in Nagorno-Karabakh region earlier today. In addition, the Turkish defense minister reaffirmed Ankara's support to Azerbaijan.

Earlier, Russia expressed concern over the escalated Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and urged both sides to cease violence and return to a diplomatic resolution. Armenia also denied military presence in the area.
