Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) revealed on Wednesday in a statement that its factory in Munich will be producing solely all-electric models starting at the end of 2027. This will be the group's first-ever plant "to have successfully completed the transformation to E-mobility."
Meanwhile, in 2026, the plant will start manufacturing the Neue Klasse sedan. Following this, the production of these models will also commence in Shenyang, China, and San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
"The Munich plant is an excellent example of our ability to adapt. We are investing € 650 million here," a member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Milan Nedeljkovic, commented. The reorientation of the factory "secures a long-term future for the site in Munich," the carmaker stated.
