US oil inventories reportedly up by 4 million barrels

Crude oil inventories in the United States increased by 4 million barrels in the week that ended April 12, marking a larger-than-expected buildup, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly showed on Tuesday.

Distillate inventories are said to have declined by 427,000 barrels, whereas gasoline stockpiles saw a plunge of 2.51 million barrels. During the corresponding week, reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma, allegedly fell by 169,000 barrels.
