The number of oil rigs in the United States stood at 545 in the week ending June 30, decreasing by one compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.
The number of US gas rigs landed at 124 during the same week, decreasing by six and bringing the total number of rigs in the country to 674. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the number of oil rigs was down by 50.
In Canada, the total number of rigs declined by two to 167. The number of oil and gas rigs in Canada fell by one in both cases to 109 and 58, respectively. Canada's oil rig count was unchanged from the same period in 2022.
