The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), who earlier claimed responsibility for a major operation in the southwestern province of Balochistan, Pakistan, also claimed on Tuesday to have killed 20 Pakistani military personnel. The BLA fighters captured the Jaffar Express and confirmed they took 182 hostages, correcting previous reports.

In a statement, they said they have held them as hostages for six hours. The group reported that it engaged in clashes with the Pakistani Air Force, using anti-aircraft weaponry to counter aerial strikes. According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the hostages remain under the control of the Majeed Brigade.
