The Japanese government is poised to select former Bank of Japan (BoJ) board member Kazuo Ueda as the new central bank governor, Nikkei Asia reported, citing a memo submitted to the parliament on Tuesday.
Ueda would take over from current Governor Haruhiko Kuroda's successor at the end of his term on April 8.
Additionally, the government reportedly proposed former head of the Financial Services Agency Ryozo Himino and BoJ executive director Shinichi Uchida for positions of deputy governors. They are set to take office on March 20.
