Former White House adviser Steve Bannon said he is willing to testify before the Select House committee handling the Capitol riot probe after having received a letter by former United States President Donald Trump in which he waived his executive privilege, according to Axios.

The former president's explained he decided to waive executive privilege after he saw those whose testimonies were sought had "to spend vast amounts of money on legal fees," telling Bannon he can only imagine "all of the trauma" he "must be going through" for the love of his country.

The move comes after the ex-official was indicted by a federal grand jury for his failure to comply with a subpoena.
