China's Vice Finance Minister Liao Min revealed on Saturday that Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen agreed that the two sides will not seek decoupling and that they welcome the development of a healthy economic relationship with a level playing field.

Liao also told reporters that the two officials held several rounds of talks that lasted for 10 hours in total and that the two delegations also agreed to strengthen communication, seek consensus, avoid misunderstandings and work together to address common challenges, including economic growth, financial stability and regulation.

"At the same time, China has clearly expressed its concerns about [Washington's] two-way investment restrictions in China, sanctions that suppress Chinese companies, export controls on China, and additional tariffs on China," Liao stressed.
