Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus and First Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Gulevich said in a Telegram post on Monday that Belarus pays great attention to combat readiness in connection with NATO exercises near the country's borders.
"In the current aggravated conditions of the military and political situation, the armed forces pay great attention to maintaining a high level of combat and mobilization readiness," he noted.
Earlier, the Belarus Defense Ministry announced that the country's armed forces have begun to check the combat readiness of formations and military units while the movement of military equipment is planned. "The personnel will have to move to the designated areas, and conduct a number of exercises and drills, including live firing."
