Tesla Inc. will be raising wages for its workers in Germany following pressure from the IG Metall union, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the move.

Employees were allegedly notified about 4% raises and a €1,500 bonus in December during CEO Elon Musk's visit to the company's German factory in early November. In addition, workers in production will receive a €2,500 boost to annual wages, according to the report. While in Germany, Musk also reportedly told staff that the plant will be manufacturing Tesla's next-generation vehicle in 2024.

Meanwhile, Tesla service center workers were said to have gone on strike in late October in an attempt to reach a collective bargaining agreement with the IF Metall union.
