Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and the far-right Otzma Yehudit party leader resigned from the coalition government as he opposes the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

In his resignation letter submitted to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir denounces what he says is the prime minister's "agreement to surrender to terrorism, which crosses all ideological red lines," adding that the ceasefire represents "a complete victory for terrorism."

Along with Ben-Gvir, Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, and Negev, Galilee and National Resilience Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf also stepped down from their posts. "We will not return to the government table without a complete victory against Hamas and the full realization of the war’s goals," Ben-Gvir said.
