Bessent talks Iran wih Saudi finance minister

United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with Saudi Arabia's Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Jadaan on Monday to discuss economic and security matters, according to a Treasury Department readout.

Bessent emphasized the Trump administration's "restoration of the maximum pressure campaign" to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, curb its missile program and counter threats from Iranian-backed groups.

The two officials also discussed the importance of working together on economic challenges and emerging opportunities in the Middle East and beyond.
