United States President Joe Biden will not visit India in January due to his busy political schedule, Nikkei reported on Wednesday, citing an anonymous US official.

"It's too close to the State of the Union and the political calendar does not allow foreign travel at this time," the source told the media outlet.

Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited Biden to be a guest of the Republic Day parade on January 26. In addition, the QUAD summit was supposed to take place in New Delhi on January 27, where Modi and Biden were expected to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese.
