President Joe Biden took to Twitter on Friday to counter Donald Trump's claims during his speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC).
"I'm stuck at home with COVID, so I had the distinct misfortune of watching Donald Trump's speech to the RNC," Biden said before disputing Trump's assertion on electric vehicles, pointing out that American manufacturing is thriving under his administration. He also tackled Trump's promise to end inflation, citing a Wall Street Journal article that suggests Trump's Project 2025 plan would exacerbate inflation. Biden defended his economic policies, claiming they reduce costs and inflation.
The President also condemned Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, recalling Trump's controversial suggestion to inject bleach and noting the high death toll. Addressing Trump's pledge to protect Social Security and Medicare, Biden accused him of repeatedly proposing cuts to these programs during his presidency.
