Biden stated during a visit to New York that he anticipates the deal to be finalized by early next week, with his national security adviser indicating significant progress. The US president's hopeful timeline points towards a ceasefire by Monday, March 4.

Over the weekend, US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan disclosed that the US, Israel, Egypt and Qatar had reached an initial understanding on the framework for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza, but that the deal was still in the negotiation phase.
