Biden nominates Tai for trade representative

United States President-elect Joe Biden nominated Katherine Tai on Thursday for the position of the trade representative in his administration, thus confirming earlier media reports.

Biden also picked Tom Vilsack as the secretary of agriculture, Marcia Fudge as the secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Denis McDonough as the secretary of Veterans Affairs and confirmed Susan Rice as his pick for the director of the Domestic Policy Council.

Biden said that this "designated and distinguished group of public servants will bring the highest level of experience, compassion and integrity to bear, solving problems and expanding possibilities for the American people in the face of steep challenges."
