United States President Joe Biden stressed on Tuesday that the newest report on the country's annual inflation, which showed the figure went down to 8.3% in August, demonstrated progress in bringing consumer prices down.
Biden highlighted in his written statement that prices have been "essentially flat" for the last two months while those of gas fell to $1.30 a gallon since the beginning of the summer. Still, the president stressed that "[i]t will take more time and resolve to bring inflation down" and the importance of the Inflation Reduction Act in achieving that.
"And my economic plan is showing that, as we bring prices down, we are creating good paying jobs and bringing manufacturing back to America," Biden concluded.
