Commenting on the state of the negotiations about raising the debt ceiling, United States President Joe Biden called GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy an "honest man" who just "about sold away everything to the far, far right ... he had to agree to things that he may believe but are extreme."
In a taped interview for MSNBC previewed on Friday, Biden left out the possibility of invoking the 14th amendment in case Congress doesn't reach a bipartisan agreement so the United States government avoids a default. Commenting on his reelection bid, Biden asserted he would be more than capable of completing another four-year term and that he is the right man for the job due to his vast experience despite his old age.
Biden is scheduled to travel to New York next Wednesday, where he will hold a press briefing about why Congress must avoid default and participate in campaign receptions.
