United States President Joe Biden nominated on Monday Bridget Brink for the position of ambassador to Ukraine. Brink is currently the US ambassador to Slovakia and has previously held diplomatic posts in Uzbekistan and Georgia, as well as serving as senior advisor and deputy assistant secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department.

The US previously stated it will move its diplomatic staff back to its embassy in Kiev after evacuating it ahead of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February. The embassy has been working without an official ambassador since 2019.
