United States President Joe Biden's antisemitism task force met on May 1 to hold discussions on what could be done to improve safety measures on campuses amid rising pro-Palestinian protests, Axios reported on Thursday citing administration officials.

According to these officials, Neera Tanden, the head of the Domestic Policy Council, and Liz Sherwood-Randall, Biden's homeland security adviser, were the ones calling for a meeting. Officials further added that Biden's speech on May 7 at a Holocaust memorial was also on the agenda, but wasn't the main topic.

Biden previously said that "there is no place on campus or in America for antisemitism or any hate speech." Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said that over 130 protesters were detained at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus.
