United States President Joe Biden said that MAGA Republicans, those supporting the policies of former President Donald Trump, are a "threat to our very democracy" and that their philosophy is "like semi-fascism." Speaking at a Maryland rally ahead of the midterm elections in November, he stated that members of the MAGA movement "refuse to accept the will of the people, the embrace political violence, they don't believe in democracy" and called on Democrats, independents and other Republicans to vote to save American values.
Biden also listed his administration's "unfinished business," bills that it hopes to pass if the Democrats retain control of Congress after the midterms. "We'll codify Roe v Wade, we'll ban assault weapons, we'll protect social security and Medicare, we'll pass universal pre-k, we'll restore the childcare tax credit, we'll protect voting rights, we'll pass election reform and make sure no one ever has an opportunity to steal an election again," he stated.
