United States President Joe Biden praised on Friday the efforts his administration has made so far to fight gun violence and stressed that "we're not stopping here."
Speaking at the White House along with Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden stressed that the creation of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention sends a "clear message" about "how important this is to me and this country." He noted that the measures introduced so far will not eliminate the issue but combined together, "they will save lives." The president also went on to describe guns as the "number-one killer" of children in the US.
Earlier in the day, the White House confirmed the establishment of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which will oversee the implementation of Biden's executive orders related to the eponymous matter.
