Syrian de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa told Al-Arabiya in an interview, whose excerpts were published on Sunday, that it could take up to four years to organize an election in the country following the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad.
Al-Sharaa noted that drafting a new constitution may take up to three years and then another year would be needed for Syrians to see drastic changes.
The Syrian de facto leader added he intends to dissolve his rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which ousted Assad, at a national dialogue conference.
