    Bitcoin breaks above $70,000

    EPA-EFE/SASCHA STEINBACH

Bitcoin's price rose by over 2%, surpassing the $70,000 threshold, boosted by the upcoming American presidential election and recent regulatory moves favoring crypto.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) approval of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) earlier this year opened doors for institutional investors, leading to a surge in demand.

The world's most famous cryptocurrency jumped by 2.8% against the dollar, going for $69,942.000 at 6:45 pm ET.
