Bitcoin dips under $98K as Trump's trade war kicks off

Bitcoin fell below $98,000 on Sunday as market uncertainty grew following US President Donald Trump's decision to impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China, with the European Union potentially next.

In response, China, Canada, and Mexico announced retaliatory measures, with Canada proposing 25% tariffs on $155 billion worth of American goods. The EU also criticized Trump's move today, warning of firm retaliation if European exports are targeted.

At 12:26 pm ET, Bitcoin was down 3.05%, going for $97,512. A minute later, Ethereum slid 3.60%, selling for $3,003.
