Bitcoin extends losses, drops below $78,000

Bitcoin continued to decline, falling below $78,000, while Ethereum nosedived by over 12% after United States President Donald Trump's global reciprocal tariffs sparked recession fears and shook investor confidence, contributing to a broad market sell-off.

Bitcoin dropped 6.67% to $77,945.808 at 6:58 pm ET, while Ethereum plummeted 12.68% to go for $1,575.9321 at 6:59 pm ET.
