Black boxes from crashed plane reportedly recovered

The two black boxes from the American Airlines plane that crashed into a Black Hawk helicopter were recovered, CBS News reported, citing a source familiar with the investigation.

Both boxes, containing flight data and cockpit voice records, will be analyzed by the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which is leading the investigation. Greg Feith, a former NTSB investigator, stated that the Black Hawk helicopter's altitude was "almost 200 feet off." He clarified that "the ceiling on those routes is 200 feet," adding that if the helicopter's pilots had adhered to this, they would have flown underneath the jet, which was "at about 400 feet."

American Airlines told CNN that it will resume its regional service from Wichita Reagan National Airport on Friday.
