United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas met on Wednesday in the West Bank city of Ramallah to discuss the latter territory's long-term conflict with Israel.
Their meeting came a day after Blinken met with several Israeli officials, including President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He urged paving a "clear pathway to a Palestinian state" and then investing in the rebuilding of Gaza. Still, the secretary also noted Israel's right to defend itself and prevent attacks such as the one conducted by Hamas on October 7 from happening again.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Blinken is going to visit Bahrain as a part of his Middle Eastern tour.
