United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken (pictured) spoke with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot on Sunday. The pair discussed the deployment of North Korean forces to Russia and agreed the US and France will continue providing support for Ukraine in the country's effort to "defend their freedom and achieve victory."

Blinken and Barrot also discussed the Middle East crisis, with Blinken insisting on a diplomatic solution for the Israel-Lebanon conflict that "allows civilians on both sides of the Blue Line to return home safely." The diplomats also discussed the need to end the Israel-Hamas conflict and increase humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.
