United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati talked over the phone on Saturday, spokesperson Matthew Miller revealed in a statement.

Blinken "reiterated the importance of respecting the interests of the Lebanese people, who would be affected by Lebanon being drawn into the conflict instigated by Hamas' terrorist attack on Israel," the statement read.
