United States Secretary of State had a meeting with British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and the foreign ministers of France and Germany, Annalena Baerbock and Jean-Yves Le Drian, during which they discussed a series of topics, the State Department said on Wednesday.
The four stressed "the importance of continued coordination to deter any further Russian aggression against Ukraine" and reaffirmed readiness "to impose massive consequences and severe costs on Russia for such actions." They also discussed, among other matters, Iran's return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and "shared concerns about the pace of developments in Iran's nuclear program."
Earlier in the day, Blinken talked with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the tensions between Kiev and Moscow and "reiterated the US's unwavering support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the face of Russia's military buildup on Ukraine's borders."
