United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Laos on Saturday during a meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

This visit is part of Blinken's week-long trip through Asia, including stops in Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and Mongolia.

The meeting comes amid strained US-China relations, with the US, along with its NATO allies, recently criticizing China as a key supporter of Russia's military efforts.
