BLINKEN TALKS CHINA, N. KOREA WITH S. KOREA'S FOREIGN MINISTER

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Beijing early on Sunday.

During his two-day visit to the Chinese capital, the US top diplomat will meet several Chinese officials, including Foreign Minister Qin Gang, whom he will hold talks with later in the day.

Blinken had been scheduled to travel to Beijing in February but postponed the trip after the US detected an alleged Chinese spy balloon over Montana. Ahead of the visit, Blinken told his South Korean counterpart Park Jin that Washington is committed to responsibly managing its relationship with Beijing and highlighted the importance of China using its influence to encourage meaningful diplomacy with North Korea.
