United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken commented on the results of the Australian general election, congratulating Prime Minister-elect Anthony Albanese.
"On behalf of the United States, I congratulate Prime Minister-elect Anthony Albanese on his victory in the May 21 Australian federal election," said Blinken. "For more than seven decades, our alliance has been a force for good in the world, and we look forward to the next 70 years," he added, calling Australia Washington's "ally, partner and friend."
