United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken had on Wednesday a telephone call with Seoul's chief diplomat Park Jin about North Korea's latest launches of ballistic missiles into the East and Yellow Seas, in which he reaffirmed Washington's "ironclad" commitment to South Korea's security and safety."

Blinken and Park also "strongly condemned" North Korea's "continued and blatant disregard" for the United Nations Security Council's resolutions on the situation in the region, which have a "deeply destabilizing effect" on it.

"The secretary emphasized that the US would take all necessary measures to ensure the security of our allies and will continue efforts to limit the DPRK's [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] ability to advance its unlawful ballistic missiles and weapons of mass destruction programs," the State Department's statement concluded.
